Kutsu Point

State park · 15 minutes from the ridge

Mueller State Park

Fifteen minutes south, Mueller State Park spreads five thousand acres of meadow, ponderosa, and granite across the shoulder of Pikes Peak. More than fifty miles of trails mean you can pick a flat family loop or a real half-day hike, and the wildlife, elk, mule deer, hawks, and the occasional bighorn, tends to find you.

What to do

  • 01

Walk an easy loop like Outlook Ridge, or take on a longer trail down into the backcountry

  • 02

Watch for elk and mule deer at dawn and dusk from the overlooks

  • 03

In winter, bring snowshoes or a sled once the trails fill in

Know before you go

  • A daily parks pass or a Colorado State Parks pass is required per vehicle at the entrance.
